Sea Scout Ship 623 works to keep our program affordable while offering high-quality adventures on the water. Below is a breakdown of our typical costs and the ways we help families cover them.

Sea Scout Ship 623 works to keep our program affordable while offering high-quality adventures on the water. Below is a breakdown of our typical costs and the ways we help families cover them.

Registration Fees
  • Scouting America Annual Registration – Youth: $85/year
  • Scouting America Annual Registration – Adult Leaders: $65/year
Ship Program Fees

Ship 623 Program Fee: $35 per quarter
Covers ship operations, program supplies, and activity support. Billed 4 times per year.

Training & Certifications

Open Water Scuba Certification: About $300 (one-time)
Covers course fees, pool sessions, and open-water checkout dives. Final cost may vary slightly by provider and gear needs.

Activity Costs

Campout Food Fee: $5 per person per meal (usually about $25 per person per campout)
Shared food cost for each campout, based on the number of meals for that trip.

Fundraisers

We run multiple fundraisers throughout the year to help scouts earn money toward their fees. Families are encouraged to participate so that no scout misses out on activities due to cost.

Scholarships & Financial Assistance

Sea Scout Ship 623 offers scholarships and additional financial assistance for families who need help covering costs. If finances are a concern, please reach out to our Skipper or committee. We will work with you to find a solution so every scout can stay active in the program.
